Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) Wheatbelt Resources

The Minister for Regional Development, Fiona Nash, has announced the successful applicants for the very competitive BBRF Round 1. 
 
RDA Wheatbelt are thrilled and excited for the successful applicants being -
 
Infrastructure Stream - 
  • Shire of Beverley - Beverley Cornerstone - Construction of a multi-purpose facility for community based activities, events, business incubation etc. $1,320,000 towards the $4,000,000 project.
  • Shire of Northam - Aquatic Facility - Construction of a new sustainable aquatic facility, including a 50m public pool family leisure pool and ablutions. $3,200,000 towards the $8,060,000 project.
  • Shire of Nungarin - NEWROC Telecommunications Solution - Installing telecommunications infrastructure across the north eastern Wheatbelt. $701,875 towards the $958,500 project.
  • Shire of Williams - Lions Park Redevelopment - Refurbishment and revitalisation of a major rest stop for travellers and local community. $360,000 towards the $774,325 project. 
 Community Investments stream - 
  • Bruce Rock Parents and Citizens: True Blue Dreaming Mentor Program Evaluation $16,500
  • West Midlands Group: developing a unifying regional brand $20,000
  • Toodyay Chamber of Commerce: strategic brand and marketing plan Tourism $15,600
  • Shire of Chittering: Muchea Employment Node implementation project $120,263
Potential applicants for Round 2 are encouraged to develop their proposal now as projects must be 'shovel ready' to start promptly after funding is announced.

Round 2 guidelines have yet to be released but Round 1 comprised of two funding streams.
1.    Infrastructure Investment Stream - applications up to $10m for ‘built’ investments – two applications per applicant permitted –
2.    Community Investment Stream – applications up to $10m for planning, events and community activities – two applications per applicant permitted

For "Letters of Support" we request project applications be submitted for review at least one week prior to the funding closing date, or preferably earlier, to allow support data and information to be prepared.
